A whole lot goin' on.
First is the appointment for Bill's eye. He goes the 6th of August. It will be then that we talk about the surgery and get things set up. After that we will let you know when the surgery will be.
Next is the job at Liberty. They have decided to make the position Bill had last year full time with benefits. That will make it 40 hours a week for twelve months and will provide medical, dental and Vision insurance. This will be a nice add even though the eye cancer started without insurance and the company will call it a pre-existing condition. God will provide, in fact, He already has started. Oh- and He will get tuition-free schooling. BIG Plus!
Finally our travels. We went visiting family and friends for 2 weeks: Cincinnati, Oh; Columbus, Oh; Hopkinsville, Ky; Chattanooga, Tn. In Cincinnati, Debi's parents moved into a home near her 2 sisters after 27 years east of the city in a small town called Fayetteville. To celebrate this move, we joined them for an open house that several extended family came in for. One of Debi's uncles, Uncle Bill, was there and he has lost the vision in his left eye, giving he and Bill common ground for lots of 'war stories'!! There was also a family cookout, and Debi's brother Jimmy was able to be there from TX. Debi's sister has a pool, so there was a lot of fun in the sun with all the 15 cousins. Coincidentally, Debi's 20 yr. high school reunion was the same weekend we were there, so we attended and were able to see 12 of the 27 that graduated in the class of 1987. In Columbus, we visited with Rachel and her family, again enjoying swimming in their pool. In Hopkinsville, we visited with friends (yes one had a pool) and even camped out in one friends' yard in our tent. In Chattanooga, we visited one of our friends from Hopkinsville who had moved there into the mountains. Great visits, long time on the road, and we were glad to get home.
As we were travelling, Bill had some tooth pain. We discovered he had an abscess, the dentist in Ohio prescribed him antibiotics and painkillers, and we found out Bill did not handle hydrocodone well at all!! A day or two after we got home, Bill's tooth started hurting again, and the dentist here went ahead and pulled the tooth. Like there wasn't enough going on already for Bill!!
